Idealism...need or utopia

In our school days we used to study Newtonian science and euclidean geometry didn't we. We used to get really fascinated about the facts and used to love drawing circles, parallel lines, perpendiculars, similar triangles and what not. Those used to be the happiest and full filling days of our otherwise boring studies except for of course the chemistry practical s where we used to make virtually small bombs! Any ways that is a different story. Getting back to the main topic. Those diagrams use to be so perfect. Likewise the equation of ideal gases PV=nRT. Beautiful equation. And and the three laws of motion . These were so so flawless. The concept of zero and vacuum which we can never achieve. So amazing. Only to found out later that these are all ideal situations. There is nothing like zero in this universe. There can never be a perfect vacuum (neither in physical space forget about getting it in or mind). There are no real parallel lines, no perpendiculars and no circles. There is a catch in three laws of motion which I don't know. So what is that we study and why? How does all this govern our universe? How has mankind  just leaped from one dark age to this modern technical fast age because of these discoveries?
